Daisuke Hayato

President & Chief Executive Officer

Daisuke Hayato is Japan Commodity Exploration’s President and Chief Executive Officer. He has been with Japan Commodity Exploration since its inception, playing an active role in all areas of our operations, ensuring effective communication throughout the company.

Daisuke Hayato has gained significant experience over the course of his career, which has taken him to regions such as Europe and North America. His impressive resume includes managerial and executive positions at renowned companies including Anglo American, Vale and Glencore.

Daisuke holds a Doctorate in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Marine Geology both from the Tokyo University of Science.

Yumi Sakura

Chief Financial Officer

Yumi Sakura serves as Japan Commodity Exploration’s Chief Financial Officer, joining Japan Commodity Exploration from Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group where she held a senior position in their financial planning department for over 10 years.

Yumi Sakura has been instrumental in charting our sustainable growth and guiding our company’s financial planning, accounting practices and expansionary vision and ambition. She is primarily charged with analyzing the company’s performance, identifying opportunities and risks, and presenting vital information to Japan Commodity Exploration’s Board.

Yumi earned her Master’s Degree in Corporate Finance from the Osaka University of Economics.

Kiko Hirano

Chief Operations Officer

Kiko Hirano serves as Japan Commodity Exploration’s Chief Operations Officer. He has over two decades of experience in resource exploration and resource extraction in Australia, South America and Asia. He maintains a hands-on approach to ensure that Japan Commodity Exploration’s exploration operations are run efficiently and effectively.

He is a career geologist, having worked for Dowa Holdings in project lead positions, before taking up a Board-level position at Nautilus Minerals in Australia.

Kiko Hirano holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the Institute of Mining and Engineering from Akita University.

Bruce MacDonald

Chief Geological Officer

Bruce MacDonald is Japan Commodity Exploration’s Chief Geological Officer, joining the company with a wealth of global extensive field experience and comprehensive industry knowledge.

His industry experience is just as extensive. He has carried out several successful large-scale exploration projects for Sino Mining PTY Ltd and Avoca Resources Ltd.

Now at Japan Commodity Exploration, he leads our teams in the field, identifying and establishing areas for exploratory drilling and interpreting results to determine the best locations for initial surveying.

Bruce holds a PhD in Geological Engineering from the University of Adelaide (UoA) and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Materials Engineering from the University of Tokyo. Bruce also speaks fluent Japanese.
